When Jason Maclean bought a rundown farmhouse in France he had no doubt about who he would get to do the decor: close friend Mark Eley, one half of fabric and interiors team Eley Kishimoto. The result is a renovation that blends the traditional with the decorative.

Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto designed most of the surfaces, and the furniture including the Arne Jacobsen Swan Sofa and the Hans Wagner peacock chair, were shipped from England. French bric-a-brac does get a look in: the dining table, for example, is an old thirties Post Office sorting table, found in a teeny vilage and delivered strapped to the top of an old Renault 5.
